Community Mediation is GROWING in Cecil County!
The Cecil County Community Mediation Center (CCCMC), formerly CMUS, launched as an independent community mediation center in January 2019! CCCMC is a non-profit organization providing accessible conflict resolution services through mediation, education, and training to promote respectful resolution of conflicts. CCCMC is able to offer services to community members, at no charge, due to local program volunteers, grant funding, and donations from community members.
Our Volunteers are very important to us! We strive to offer Volunteers a fulfilling experience by:
- offering Volunteer Opportunities during the day, evenings, and weekends
- matching personal interests and talents to programs and needs
- providing top quality, professional training at no cost*
- providing advanced and continuing education training opportunities at no cost*
*CCCMC's Volunteer Mediator Training Program represents a unique opportunity for volunteers to obtain hands on experience and skills in mediation. Volunteers receive professional training, at no cost, with a Volunteer Contract. Basic Mediation Training is provided by Community Mediation Maryland. The intensive training program is followed by an observation and co-mediation internship. Once established, volunteers may choose specialized areas of training including: Re-entry Mediation, Parenting Plan Mediation, Individual Education Plan (IEP), and meeting facilitation.
CMUS follows the Mediation Confidentiality Code of MD Section 3-1803 and Judiciary Rule 17, and Ethical Standards of Mediators.
