Who We Are

The Department of Community Services, through a broad continuum of community-based programs and initiatives, strives to provide quality, cost efficient human services focused on enhancing the quality of life for children, families, older adults, and persons with disabilities while cultivating partnerships to address the needs and interests of the community.

What We Do

The Department of Community Services provides programs and services to Cecil County residents through the following Divisions:

The Aging and Disability Services Division provides community-based supports and services through case management, counseling and advocacy to empower and support the aging population, persons with disabilities and vulnerable adults.

The Community Partnerships Division, through a collaborative effort with local agencies and providers, identifies critical community needs while building capacity for solutions.

The Community Wellness Division offers programming, services and facilities that promote active and healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, enhanced socialization options, nutrition and strategic planning related to wellness, aging and recreation to citizen’s 55 years of age and older.

The Housing & Community Development Division promotes adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment to eligible low and moderate-income individuals and families in Cecil County.
