Cecil Cares – Annual Day of Service
Cecil Cares, an annual countywide day of service, is coordinated by Cecil County Department of Community Services Community Partnerships Division and the Cecil Cares Planning Team. Cecil Cares offers citizens the opportunity to connect and volunteer with local organizations (nonprofits, government agencies, and faith and service-based organizations) on a variety of one-day service projects throughout the County. The inaugural event was held in September 2016 as a part of a grant initiative through the Maryland Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism. The event has grown over the years in participation and interest. Since 2016, 36 organizations have coordinated projects, and in 2024, over 200 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and served with either a hands-on project or a donation drive. The day is now made possible with support from Upper Shore Regional Council. Cecil Cares 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, October 4th. Watch this space for information!
