Mediation offered by CMUS is free and is a voluntary and confidential dispute resolution process in which a neutral mediator assists parties in finding a lasting win-win solution to their conflict. Mediation lets people speak for themselves and they — not the mediator — control the decisions and the outcome. Mediation is an alternative to non-resolution or costly legal measures.
CMUS is offering free Basic Mediation Training (BMT) February 22-27 9am-5pm for Cecil County Volunteers. Prior to training, participants must complete and submit a Volunteer Data Form & Contract for approval. Attendees MUST attend ALL training sessions to complete the program. At an investment cost of $500+ per trainee, CMUS is committed to offering the best training possible to it's volunteers. In exchange for free mediation training, Volunteers agree to abide by the Volunteer Contract. The Volunteer Data Form & Contract can be found here.
CMUS Volunteers are trained to mediate in: family disputes, neighborhood disputes, business issues, landlord-tenant, child access, truancy, re-entry, court referrals and many others.
