Who We Are
We are an all-volunteer Board with a small staff, working to save the open spaces, great farm soils, and clean water of Cecil County.
What We Do
Today, through volunteer labor, 3,000 acres and counting have been permanently protected. A local foods system will help Cecil eat better, and farmers to profitably grow food.Public access to trails, natural areas, canoe/kayak trips on the Octoraro, and farm tours are planned to give Cecil a chance to see the riches of the natural world and where our food comes from. Our stream restoration projects help farmers reduce pollution, help the county meet water quality goals, and bring back fish populations. Local foods suppers, Cycle for Cecil bike ride in April, and regular speakers on environmental issues inspire Cecil.
