Who We Are
The Historic Elk Landing Foundation is a historic organization responsible for the interpretation and maintenance of one of Maryland's and the Mid-Atlantic's most historic tracts of land: Elk Landing. Situated at the confluence of the Little Elk and Big Elk Creeks (at the end of Landing Lane), this site is on the area's earliest transportation corridor and played a role in many significant historical events.
What We Do
At present our chief interpretive era is 1750 – 1850; but as we are an emerging living history museum, we could potentially interpret the site from 10,000 BC to the 1920s. Currently the organization’s core focus is the maintenance of our two historic homes and hosting historic living history events.
History buffs welcome!
We are particularly in need of Revolutionary War and War of 1812 enthusiasts.
