Help bring color and creativity to downtown Elkton! Volunteers will
assist with painting decorative designs on parking meters along Bow Street as
part of Cecil Cares. This project will build on the success of the Main Street
parking meter art project completed several years ago.
Volunteers will work in small teams to paint themed designs on parking
meters using acrylic paints and artist-provided concepts. Tasks may include
surface preparation, base coating, detail painting, and finishing touches. All
paint and supplies will be provided.
While all volunteers are welcome, this project is especially well suited
for individuals with painting, art, or crafting experience who are comfortable
working with brushes and following design concepts. The goal is to create
attractive, durable public art that reflects the character of Bow Street and
helps beautify downtown Elkton.
Volunteers should be prepared to spend
several hours outdoors and wear clothing suitable for painting.
