Who We Are
CASA of Cecil County is one of the organizations in Maryland’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program. CASA programs, work to ensure every victim of child abuse and neglect, a right to grow up in safe and permanent homes. This mission is carried out through the efforts of professionally-trained volunteers, appointed by the court to speak up for the best interests of children who are under the protection of the courts. We hope you will join us on this mission! Whether you choose to become an advocate for a child, help with fundraising or public awareness activities, or make a financial investment in our work, we can always use your support!
What We Do
"We have a large population of foster children in our county. The CASA program (Court Appointed Volunteers) will enable the courts to address some of the many needs of this population of children. The purpose of CASA is for these additional representatives of the court to advocate for the safety and well-being of children removed from their home due to abuse and neglect. The CASAs themselves are volunteers who protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the safe environment of a loving family."
