Who We Are
The FriendsCCPR.org is a 501c3 nonprofit formed to support the programs, services, and facilities of the Cecil County Parks & Rec (CCPR) Department. We are an all-volunteer Board which works tirelessly to promote CCPR and support community collaboration.
Our Mission
-
To support the programs, services, and facilities of the Cecil County Parks & Rec (CCPR) department.
-
To communicate the vital mental & physical health role open park spaces, facilities, and programs have in our community.
-
To be a conduit between the public and the county to advocate for what the public wants in their parks.
-
To establish strong collaborative partnerships with local community organizations.
-
To raise scholarship funds to offset the costs for programs that serve as a barrier to disadvantaged communities.
-
To be good stewards of park lands by improving habitats, park amenities, and equipment through community fundraising efforts.
What We Do
The FriendsCCPR.org acts as a conduit between the public needs & desires and county officials. Our strength comes through community partnerships and supporting collaborative efforts with tax funded agencies such as the Cecil County Public Schools as well as the Cecil County Public Library.
In addition, we work closely with other community service organizations and nonprofits.
