Volunteer: Cecil County Mentors

Cecil County Mentors was created after a need was identified to provide additional services for children in kinship placements. Children in kinship care may need additional support as they develop their plan for the future. The Cecil County Mentors program strives to provide that support. We help our youth develop and follow through on their goals while also connecting them to established community services. The goal of Cecil County Mentors is to make sure youth in kinship have access to the support they need to transition into successful young adults.

Cecil County Mentors work with youths age 12 and up who currently reside in kinship placement. Mentors aim to guide children as they transition from middle and high school into young adults. they help our youth navigate educational, vocational, and social changes. Mentors work both one-on-one, as well as in group settings to help their assigned youth set and achieve their own goals. Mentors fulfill an important need in our community by helping youth who may be in an unstable environment find their path forward.
