Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday on the build site.Assist with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping.Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.Maintain site safety by adhering to Habitat construction safety policies, modeling best practices and guidelines, volunteer education and site monitoring.

Cecil County offers Elk Neck State Park, where you can hike to the Turkey Point Lighthouse for stunning views, and the Plumpton Park Zoo for family fun. A short drive to Baltimore brings vibrant experiences like the National Aquarium, historic Fells Point’s shops and restaurants, the Walters Art Gallery, or Fort McHenry. Maryland’s state parks, including Gunpowder Falls and Susquehanna State Park, provide hiking, fishing, and picnicking. Nearby, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia are accessible by train, offering iconic landmarks like the National Mall and Liberty Bell, as well as museums and cultural experiences. This region promises something for everyone to enjoy!Unique projects: Members will participate in two Habi-Tech moves. Our affiliate partners with local tech schools to build Habitat homes for each county we serve. These homes are partially constructed by students and then transported to their final destinations. AmeriCorps members play a critical role in this process by assisting with the preparation of the homes at the schools for the move and helping at the build site when the homes are placed onto their foundations by cranes Members will be crucial in the construction of our affiliate’s very first triplex in Havre de Grace, Maryland, expanding our experience beyond duplexes and single-family homes. This project will provide them with the opportunity to participate in the construction of a unique style of home that is not typically built in our community.

We are excited to announce that we will have a new build site in Cecil County!  Thanks to our partnership with Cecil County School of Technology, a partially built home will be transported and set on a foundation at 109 Booth Street, Elkton.  We expect to have volunteers on site by June 1!  We need YOU to help us complete this home so Candy and her daughter have a safe, stable and affordable home they can call their own.

No experience is required, and we need both skilled and unskilled help. We provide all the tools and safety equipment.  We need help every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and shifts go from 8am to 3pm.  You choose how often to volunteer - daily, weekly, monthly or sporadically.  We are flexible and signing up is easy.  Once an account is created, you simply go online, look for open build days and register.

Are you part of a group, club, church, business or school?  We love to host groups as well, and will create "private builds" for you and your group.  Volunteering with friends and coworkers is a great way to bond and build team spirit.

Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna is looking for volunteers to help capture special moments in the lives of our partner families as well as capture the magic of our Habitat events.

We host groundbreaking and home dedication ceremonies which are important milestones in our partner families home ownership journeys.  We are looking for volunteers to take pictures of these events to be used for press releases, social media and most important, for the families to have to celebrate this accomplishment.

We also need photographs of our special events and fundraisers including Women Build, our annual Gala, Hard Hats and Hops and our Fallfest.

This position is "on-call" and very flexible.
